Introducing ‘The Alleyway’, a Gibson Explorer style guitar handcrafted by my own fair hands. In the US they have Bloc Parties, here in Manchester we throw open the gates and meet up in the alleyways to share stories, drink and be merry. And as Guitar No.009 is named after one such time.
There is something intrinsically 'rock' about the Explorer shape. Whether played by U2's The Edge or Metallica's James Hetfield, its a guitar to strike out a stage pose.
Solid mahogany with custom white pearl scratchplate, The Alleyway boasts two Creamery Classic Alnico 2 Humbuckers to give it that warm vintage sound. The maple neck & fingerboard balances the warmth from the mahogany and Alnico 2 magnets with a little snap & bite.
As with all my guitars, all wood is simply oiled & rubbed by hand with no lacquer, nitrocellulose, poly or Polyurethane.
