Custom Telecaster Pickups

Modern, Vintage & Custom Replacement Telecaster Pickups

From the classic Tele 'twang' to fatter, grittier sounds all my replacement Telecaster Pickups are handwound here in my workshop in Manchester, UK

I've tried to create Telecaster pickups & replacement sets that chime with certain styles & periods in music but often once you place an order, I'll discuss how we can make the pickup custom to you - If that means over/underwinding a little, different outputs etc etc then no problem, it can be done - they're your pickups, for your guitar.

Replacement Telecaster (Tele) Pickups from The Creamery.

Creamery Vintage, Modern, Custom & Alternative Gretsch/Filtertron design Pickups - Both Gibson/PAF Humbucker Size & the slightly narrower Gretsch®/Cabronita 'No Ears' Mount

From vintage inspired sets to modern, higher output replacements & purely custom / alternative designs, here are my handwound replacement Telecaster pickups.

The Telecaster is a workhorse, purely a musician's tool and a guitar that fits into every style from country & blues through funk to inde & alternative - This simple player's guitar hides a versatility that is testament to its continued appeal decades later.

NOTE: I wind my pickups RW/RP as standard but you can request vintage non-RW/RP or alternative polarities to work with a current other brand pickup - Just drop me an email. Also, if you're unsure about matching my pickups with other makers', then just leave me a note asking for a seperate ground wire for the Tele Bridge Baseplate and/or Neck Cover. That way you should be able to ensure correct in-phase whilst still grounding the baseplate & cover.

A real spank & twang and growl to these Creamery replacement Filtertron® design pickups.

Handwound in my workshop here in Manchester.

    Vintage 1 Telecaster Bridge Pickup

    The Vintage 'Nocaster' Bridge Sound

My take on the vintage Telecaster (Nocaster) bridge pickup of the early '50s. Flat Alnico 3 polepieces pressed into traditional vulcanised flatwork. I scatterwind (hand feed) the 42AWG thin copper wire to build the coil to around 7.3k. A traditional Telecaster bridge pickup sound; crisp and clear with a bright sound yet sweeter, warmer & rounder due to the weaker Alnico 3 rod magnets.

Vintage cloth pushback hookup wire, wax potted with zinc coated steel baseplate and vintage style string coil protection make this my homage to the early Telecaster sound. A great Tele bridge pickup sound if you want that older, sweeter sound.

    Vintage 2 Telecaster Bridge Pickup

    The Vintage 'Broadcaster' Bridge Sound

My take on the vintage Telecaster (Broadcaster) bridge pickup of the early '50s. Flat Alnico 2 polepieces pressed into vulcanised flatwork. Wound with thinner 43AWG thin coil wire for a fatter, rounder, hotter sound - Still keeping the classic Tele characteristics, it does roll back the 'twang' a little for an overall fatter sound.

Its also my personal favourite of the classic/vintage Tele designs. I do wind my version a little hotter than the originals. I was lucky to have an original on the bench and prototyped and prototyped until I could match the original sound, the results being this slightly overwound design.

Vintage cloth pushback hookup wire, wax potted with vintage zinc plated steel baseplate and vintage style string coil protection make this our homage to the early Telecaster pickups. (The originals had uncoated steel baseplates but these did corrode so I have my baseplates made with a very thin zinc coating to prevent rust. It has no audible effect on the overall sound.)

    Vintage 2 Telecaster Neck Pickup

    The Vintage 'Broadcaster' Neck Sound

A slightly hotter wind but still the traditional Telecaster neck pickup sound - A clear, warm sound with smooth mid frequencies. The soft attack of the Alnico 2 magnets is ideal for a warm, sweet tele sound.

Unpolished bare nickel cover, vintage style cloth covered lead wire and wax potted - match it with the vintage Telecaster "Broadcaster" bridge for that fat 50s Telecaster sound. (Other cover options are available)

    Magnets 'South Up' Alnico 5
    Coil Wire 42AWG

    Baseplate Copper plated steel

    Classic '64 Bridge Pickup

The Classic Pre CBS era Early '60s Telecaster Bridge Sound

The Classic Telecaster Bridge pickup with flat or staggered Alnico 5 poles and copper plated steel grounding plate to shift the resonances toward the lows, resulting in a fatter, more pleasant sound but still brighter with more of the classic 'Twang' than the "Nocaster" or "Broadcaster" designs.

This is a true scatterwound pickup. With the classic Telecaster spank, the pickup has a tight bottom-end with clarity through the upper mid-range to highs.

The sound from this pickup is just how you expect it to be - bright, tight with that spank, 'Twang' and attack when pushed. A great, versatile Telecaster bridge pickup for classic country to modern indie & alternative.

    Modern Fatter, Fuller Tele Bridge

A Modern, Hotter Telecaster Bridge Pickup - Alnico 2, 5 or 8 Magnets

A hotter, higher output version of the Classic Telecaster Bridge pickup with flat or staggered custom manufactured Alnico 2, 5 or Alnico 8 magnets.

The higher output gives this pickup a more rounded, fatter & driving sound than the classic bridge pickup series, still with Telecaster clarity and twang but this is a pickup designed to drive drive your amp more - Hotter output Tele pickup designed to balance traditional Tele sounds with a more modern attack & edge.

Alnico 2 is slightly weaker, which 'holds' the strings a little less, allowing them to vibrate a little more freely, helping to give a slightly warmer sound whereas Alnico 5 is slightly stronger, 'holding' the strings a little more helping to give a slightly more attacking, punchier, focussed sound. Alnico 8 is stronger still for a more bite & aggressive.

    Alt '88 Tele 'Mid-Range'

Creamery Custom Handwound Alt 88 Mid-Range Telecaster Bridge Pickup

Magnets "South Up" Alnico 2 or 5
    Coil Wire 43AWG
    Lead Wire Vintage Braided
    Bridge Output 13.6k
    Baseplate Plated Steel

Alt '88 Tele Pickup 'Mid-Range' - Loud, Quiet, Loud

Fatter, Fuller with more mid-range. Designed for more Indie/Alternative styles & sounds.

The Alt '88 pickup was inspired by the alternative music scene of the mid-to-late '80s and after feedback from players the design has now been split into two distinct versions. Whereas the "Alt '88 - Treble" uses thicker 42awg coil wire and taller, stronger rod magnets for a brighter, more cutting sound, the "Alt '88 - Mid-Range" uses the same taller, stronger rod magnets but is overwound with thinner 43awg coil wire for a fatter, fuller, more mid-range voice. Both have been designed to have similar, higher, more powerful outputs - the difference comes from how they're voiced.

With less in the higher frequencies the "Alt '88 - Mid-Range" sits in the band mix better, not as dominant or cutting as the 'Treble' version, a little sweeter, less brittle, a little fuller, a little darker - the more melancholy side to its brash alternative.

    Alt '88 Tele 'Mid-Range' - Magnet Choices

With magnets, Alnico 2 is that bit weaker so ‘holds’ the strings a little less, allowing them to vibrate that little more to add a little more warmth & resonance to the overall sound. Alnico 5 is slightly stronger so therefore ‘holds’ the strings that little more for slightly more attack, focus, brightness and a little increased output. Magnets don’t have ‘tone’ but they do have strength to varying degrees which has an effect on the overall sound, all other things being equal. Alnico 2 can be great to tame a bright bridge sound whereas a stronger magnet can help to keep clarity & definition in the naturally darker neck position.

The Alt '88 range has been a real labour of love and these pickups and have gone through numerous changes before launch just to get them right. A great Tele rhythm or lead pickup if you want more an an alternative/leftfield sound.

Alt '88 Tele Pickup 'Treble' - Loud, Quiet, Loud

Brighter, Attacking, Aggressive Tele Bridge Pickup. Designed for more Indie/Alternative styles & sounds

The Alt '88 pickup was inspired by the alternative music scene of the mid-to-late '80s and after feedback from Tele players the design has now been split into two distinct versions. With more in the higher frequencies the "Alt '88 - Treble" can dominate in the mix a little more, cutting through for a more aggressive attack - the brash side to its darker, warmer alternative.

A Modern, Much Higher Output Tele Neck - Loud, Quiet, Loud

More Attacking, Aggressive Tele Neck Pickup. Designed for more Indie/Alternative styles & sounds

Inspired by the alternative music scene of the mid-to-late '80s this is the hotter, more powerful neck positioin pickup to compliment the Alt '88 Telecaster bridge. Taller, stronger Alnico 2 or 5 rod magnets help increase the attack and output, keeping clarity & string definition. A punchier, attacking Tele neck position sound for less traditional style sof play.

The Alt '88 Telecaster Neck comes without cover to let more of the attack come through but can be fitted with a traditional bare nickel cover to keep the classic look. It can also be RW/RP if required.

The Alt '88 range has been a real labour of love and these pickups and have gone through numerous changes before launch just to get them right. A great Strat rhythm or lead pickup if you want more bite with more of an an alternative/leftfield sound.

    Telecaster Dark Line

Creamery Custom Tele Dark Line Bridge Pickup

    Coil Wire 43AWG
    Lead Wire Vintage Braided
    Bridge Output 11.4k
    Baseplate No Baseplate

Fatter, fuller, grittier, tighter, dirtier Tele bridge sounds.

Designed for darker, sleazier, more alternative playing.

Initially designed for Jaguars guitars, they're now available for Telecasters too - Designed for players who wanted something darker, grittier, something more savage & physical from their guitars, but keeping a tight, razor focus to really cut through the band mix.

Not a traditional rock, indie or blues sound, something much more aggressive & visceral. Essentially the idea was to design a raw, more primal sounding pickup to work with the existing Strat wiring for pure alternative sounds and styles of playing. Much tighter, much more focussed sounds than my Sonic '60s, these were designed specifically to play loud.

A single plated steel blade sits at the heart of the design inside a much more tigter coil of thinner 43awg coil wire, and I experimented with a variety of magnet grades and sizes until finally working on a duo of custom manufactured square bar Alnico 5s.

Available in a stark black or white open face design, the new Telecaster Dark Line pickup is a direct drop-in replacements, designed to turn that Fender or Squier Tele into a much more powerful guitar - I spent a long time getting the design of these just right, putting them aside, coming back to them - a real labour of love.

    Tapped Tele Bridge

Creamery Custom Replacement Tapped Tele Telecaster Bridge Pickup

    Magnets 'South Up' - Alnico 2, 3 or 5
    Coil Wire 42AWG & 43AWG Plain Enamel
Lead Wire 3-Way with Separate Ground for the Baseplate
    Bridge Output 7.5k & 10.6k
    Baseplate Copper Plated Steel

Custom Tapped Tele Bridge Pickup - 2 Tele Bridge Pickups in 1

Designed for more versatile Bridge Position Playing

A custom design Tele tapped bridge with dual outputs - essentially a warmer, higher output Tele Bridge Pickup with the coil 'Tapped' - so the pickup can be used with either a brighter, lower output or switched to the higher output, warmer sound. Use either a simple SPDT or Push/Pull Pot to give you 2 different pickups in 1.

Available in flat pole version for 9.5" radius necks upwards or the more vintage correct staggered version for 7.25" radius necks.

Classic Bright Tele 'Twang' Plus Warmer, Higher Output Option

I designed the Custom Tapped Tele Bridge with outputs to give you my Classic '64 for those vintage Tele sounds & 'Twang' plus a much warmer, higher output version with the two concurrent coils combined for a completely different sound, somewhere between my Vintage 1 (Nocaster) and Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) giving you two Tele Bridge Pickups in one - a real versatile Tele Bridge pickup.

One Handwound Coil - Tapped at a certain point

The Pickup works by having an initial lower output coil wound around the custom rod magnets, this has a 'start' and an 'end' giving you an initial output of around 7.5k for that classic, bright tele 'Twang'. The end of this coil is split allowing it also continue in the same direction for an increased number of windings to create a higher output pickup. The 'Tapped' nature of the pickup means you can 'tap into' the coil to 'end' at this given point for the lower output sound, or use the 'start' & final 'end' of the whole coil to give you the 2nd, much warmer, higher output sound.

    Lower Output Coil (7.5k) is:

    Start: White

    End: Yellow

    Full Coils (10.6k) is therefore:

    Start: White

    End: Black

With a Separate bare wire to ground the Baseplate.

I don't have pickups all boxed up ready to send out, each pickup is custom made so I can make a custom Tapped Tele Bridge pickup to suit your own needs or specifications and outputs, you can choose different magnet types from the dropdown menu.

A Strat sound Pickup for the Tele Neck Position.

Designed for a crunchier, brighter Neck Position Sound.

This is my own handwound take on the Fender® Twisted Tele Neck Pickup - A true direct drop-in replacement for the Telecaster neck position where a fatter, strat sound is required.

Like the Twisted Tele I make my handwound 'Extra Width' Tele neck pickup with taller magnets help me wind thicker 42AWG coil wire to around 6k giving a fatter, more Stratocaster sounding pickup for the Tele Neck position.

A warmer, fatter, strat sound for your Tele Neck position - a custom, handwound alternative to the hard-to-get Fender® Twisted Tele Pickup.

    Red '79

Creamery Handwound Custom Red 79 Telecaster Bridge Pickup

    Magnets 'South Up' Alnico 5
    Coil Wire 42AWG
    Lead Wire Vintage Cloth 'Pushback'
    Bridge Output 5.9k
    Baseplate Copper Plated Steel

    Biting, Attacking, Late '70s Sound

Inspired by the New Wave/Post Punk era of the late '70s & early '80s.

The Red '79 Telecaster Bridge Pickup has that brittle, bright attack & scooped mids associated with much of the music of that era. The lower in output, 42AWG coil wrapped around Custom Alnico 5 magnets gives you that cutting sound great with effects (a little phase, a little chorus ;-).

I settled on the final design (after many versions) to create a pickup that has that bright, brittle sound without the ice-pick shrillness of lower wound pickups. To achieve this the coil is wound slightly shorter with a looser scatterwound pattern to achieve the balance I was looking for.

With the staggered magnet the sound is concentrated more around the D & G strings for a spikier attack whereas with the flat pole version the sound is rounded a little more as the sound is spread evenly through all strings. There's also the option to have the pickup without the Telecaster baseplate for more of a cutting stratocaster bridge sound.

If you're looking for a set, the Red '79 can be matched up with my Classic Telecaster Neck and I can custom wind them to create a great calibrated set. Just get in touch.

NOTE: If Red really isn't your thing you can always order it in White or Black vintage String as well ;-)

Custom Telecaster Sized, P90 Design Bridge Pickup

A P90 pickup in a standard Telecaster Bridge size. The Creamery Telecaster sized P90 pickup houses two unpolished Alnico 5 magnets and a fat 43AWG coil wound around a custom, handcrafted P90 middle bobbin, hand shaped to fit a standard Telecaster Bridge.

Huge, fat single-coil sounds still with clarity, presence & a defined voice. Get the grit of a P90 in a standard Telecaster Bridge size. Great fat, rounded clean sounds - turn up the gain and let the pickup scream.

The geometry of the standard Tele Bridge Pickup size as opposed to a standard P90 means there will always be a slight difference in sound between the two pickups as the coil will be slightly narower - Its for this reason I don't call it a "true" P90 although I've voiced this pickup to sound close, somewhat similar to my Humbucker sized P90 pickup. A higher output, fat single-coil sound in a standard Tele Bridge sized pickup that also keeps some of the classic Tele characteristics.

Please Note: The Tele-90 bridge is about 4mm taller than a standard Tele Bridge pickups and whilst it will fit many cavities, if you have a shallow bridge cavity, please check. The total height of the pickup with pole screws is 21mm whereas a standard Tele bridge is around 17-18mm. You'll need a minimum cavity space of at least about 14mm to fit the pickup.

Custom Telecaster Sized, P90 Design Neck Pickup

A P90 design in a standard Telecaster Neck Pickup size. The Creamery Telecaster sized P90 pickup houses two custom sized unpolished Alnico 5 magnets, wider steel screws and a short, fat 43AWG coil.

Fatter, warmer single-coil neck sounds still with clarity, presence & a defined voice. Get the grit of a P90 in a standard Telecaster Neck size. Great fat, rounded clean sounds.

The geometry of the standard Tele Neck Pickup size as opposed to a standard P90 means there will always be a slight difference in sound between the two pickups as the coil will be narrower & taller - Its for this reason I don't call it a "true" P90 although I've voiced this pickup to have more of that grittier P90 edge. A higher output, fat single-coil sound in a standard Tele Neck sized pickup.

Tele-90 Neck available in Alnico 5 and Double-Thickness Alnico 5 Options

I've had two designs of magnet custom made for these pickups, a standard option Alnico 5 (described above) and a double-thickness Alnico 5 for a stronger, more attacking, slightly brighter but a little less resonant sound - for a more modern take on my Tele-90 Neck.

Please Note: The Tele-90 Neck with the standard Alnico 5 Magnets and about 15mm tall, with the Double-Thickness Alnico 5 magnets the pickup total height is about 20mm tall. Both should fit into a standard Telecaster Neck cavity.

You can select the Tele-90 Neck to be RW/RP for hum-cancelling in the middle position.

    Sonic '60 'Treble' Bridge

Creamery Custom Handwound Sonic 60 Telecaster Treble Bridge Pickup

Magnets 'South Up' - Custom Designed Alnico 2 or 5
    Coil Wire 42AWG
    Lead Wire Vintage Cloth 'Pushback'
    Bridge Output 7.3k
    Baseplate Plated Steel

Sonic '60 'Treble' for Tele Bridge.

A Bright, Rich, Focussed Telecaster Bridge Sound

With handwound coil pressed around the custom designed magnet and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, the Sonic '60 'Treble' replacement Tele Bridge pickup give that richer, musical sound synonimous with the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design - just in a standard Tele bridge size & shape

Geometry dictates they won't sound identical to the old 60s classics as the pickups are Tele Size and I use my custom made thinner magnets inside the pressed coil, but they're designed & tested to be richer, sweeter and more rounded than standard Tele bridge pickups.

With a choice of magnets, you can choose to have a warmer or brighter version. Alnico 2 'holds' the strings a little less, allowing them to vibrate a little more freely giving a perceived slightly warmer, more resonant sound.

Alnico 5 offers a slightly brighter, more attacking characteristic than Alnico 2.

    With or Without Tele Baseplate

You can choose to have the pickup with or without the classic Tele steel baseplate. With the baseplate you get more of the classic twang with a little more warmth. Without the baseplate the sound is a little brighter, a little more crunchier, a little more aggressive.

Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' for Tele Bridge.

A Fat, Rich, Warm, Focussed, Tele Bridge Sound

With handwound coil pressed around the custom designed magnet and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, the Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' replacement Tele Bridge pickup give that richer, musical sound synonimous with the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design but in a new fatter, fuller, dirtier & grittier sound with more emphasis on the mid-range.

I designd these after feedback from players who loved the brighter standard Sonic '60s I made for them but wanted a fatter, hotter, more mid-range version to compliment - If you're looking for more mid-range to your bridge sound, and want something a little different, an alternative to the traditional pickup, then maybe the new Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' pickup could be for you.

Whereas the standard Sonic '60s are wound with thicker 42awg coil wire and are available in a variety of Alnico magnet choices, I spent a long time on the new 'Mid-Range' 43awg versions and concluded, after much testing, that the stronger Alnico 5 and Alnico 8 versions worked best. You can choose either based on your own preference, Alnico 8 being the strongest with a little more output and more cooler focus whereas the slightly weaker Alnico 5 is that little bit sweeter but with slightly less attack.

    With or Without Tele Baseplate

You can choose to have the pickup with or without the classic Tele steel baseplate. With the baseplate you get more of the classic twang with a little more warmth. Without the baseplate the sound is a little brighter, a little more crunchier, a little more aggressive.

    *and 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 & reissue Tele Custom Guitars

My Creamery handwound pickups & sets for the 1972 Custom Telecaster (Custom '72 Tele) are direct drop-in replacements. Featuring a choice of handwound Bridge Pickups and my Classic '71 True Design Wide Range Humbuckers, I make them as a custom calibrated set so there's no real sudden volume jump or drop when switching positions.

Calibrated Replacement Tele Custom Pickup Set - Balanced for Volume across the positions

With the original pickups & reissue pickup sets often unbalanced, there can be sudden volume drops & jumps when switching between Bridge & Neck positions. I often make Tele Custom '72 Pickup Sets to offer much more even volume levels for much more even switching.

True Design Wide Range Humbucker for the Neck Position

Unlike the modern reissue pickups, my replacement '72 Tele Custom neck position Wide Range Humbucker is true to the original '70s Seth Lover design with individual threaded magnets and internal ferrous reflector pates using special parts I have had custom made. Such a versatile pickup, it balances the warmth of a humbucker with the clarity & definition of a single-coil. The original design was more of a 'Doubled'Up' single coil rather than a humbucker; you can read about my true replica Classic '71 Wide Range Humbuckers here.

Available with covers in custom yellowed bare nickel, nickel, chrome and my hand-aged chrome or nickel covers, you can order a single neck position here - Neck Position Wide Range Humbucker for a '72 Custom Tele.

    Balanced Bridge Position Pickup

With the bridge pickup of the '72 Custom Telecaster & Tele Custom reissue guitars often much lower in output, there can be somewhat of a sudden volume jump when switching through the positions. I often custom make a '72 Tele custom bridge position to counter this and be more balanced volume-wise. Whether it be a variation on my Vintage 1 Nocaster, Vintage 2 Broadcaster, Hot Alnico 5 or Alt-88 Tele Bridge Pickup I make the set calibrated to be more even, whilst still keeping to the characteristics of the classic Tele bridge.

    It really means a lot

Sounds AMAZING, its a great guitar and one of the best things about it is your pickups. So clear!

Alex Kapranos - Classic '71 Wide Range Bridge - Calibrated Custom Tele Neck

    Nice job again Jaime!

Nathan Connolly - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Bridge - Classic '71 Neck

Hi Jaime, just got them wired in this week. Sound absolutely brilliant, tried them playing live as well some recording, great!

Now it is just a question which guitar should get pickups next!

Pétur Hallgrímsson - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Set

Your pickups are all over this new record - Edwyn Collins is mixing at the moment - the guitar sounds AMAZING!!! We want more pickups... Eric, my lead guitarist, ended up using my Tele because it sounded so great through my old Tremolux. Now he want's some... Think I might want the hotter option in my rosewood Tele too... I almost feel obliged to mention you on the album they're THAT good!! Hope all is well, Joe.

Joe McAlinden - Vintage 2 (Boadcaster) Set

Hi Jaime, Just installed the p90 into my tele. Just managed to tear myself away from it to give yu some feedback. Like all the other pickups you've built me, I love the tone. I love p90's when they're well made and this one certainly is. 90's have a reputation for a raw aggressive sound but they can be beautifully melodic too I believe, especially in the neck position.

This one works really well with the light but very resonant piece of agathis that my tele is made out of, sure it has that raw sound but play the right chords and it has a lovely soft jazzy tone to it and it takes a slide wonderfully well.

I reckon that overwound alnico 3 and the neck p90 are the ultimate slide combo, I gotta really work on those skills to get the best out of it, but p90's are like that. Many thanks again Jaime, will be in touch when the next project comes along

    Andrew Osbourne - Tele-90 Neck

Hi Jaime, Just wanted to drop you a quick note as I've finally got round to installing that set of Tele '64s I bought from you a while back. Lovely stuff mate, my Tele now has a wonderfully springy, almost acoustic quality to it. I love it. Cheers man

Tom Janssen - Classic ’64 Tele Set

Sounds amazing Jaime, I absolutely love it. This is the best guitar I've ever played or heard and I absolutely love the way it came out from seeing it on your website and trying to hear it in my mind and then talking to you about a couple of the details I wanted and then like magic it comes to life. I get a lot of Clash-like and Beatles-like tone and bite and brightness that I can't quite achieve with my other guitars.

Michael Warunek - Red ’79 Bridge, Classic ’67 Neck - Calibrated Set

Installed and amazing. You are a wizard my friend. Sounds exactly as requested!

Graeme Worsfold - Vintage 2 Bridge & Baby ’71 Neck

Totally blows away the shrill stock pickups

    Leonardo Piras - Tele-90 Set

Got the Tele-90 in the Bridge position of my Telecaster - very, very nice. In fact I'm so happy with it I want you to make me a pickup to replace the SD!

    J Lawson - Tele-90 Bridge

Hey Jamie, the telecaster pickups are sounding amazing. I just got back from the first practice where I've been able to use the Tele and I'm blown away with the improvement the pickups have made.

The Sonic 60 is scarily good, it's really pokey but so controlled when I pile all the fuzz on. I wouldn't call it precise, rather it's natural and balanced, and the attack is really clean, even through all that fuzz, it's exactly what I'd hoped for and my band-mates were also suitably impressed. The Tele-90 is sweet as can be, the sustain is buttery and long, really beautiful nuanced sounding pickup, especially clean; somehow it makes vibrato sound better than on any of my other guitars - I'm not sure what mojo you infused it with to manage that, but it brings out so much of what (and how) you play. As an aside - I also had a Fender TBX tone control installed at the same time as the pickups, it does it's thing with the Sonic-60, but sounds especially great on the Tele-90, it really opens out in a nice way, especially for more strummed playing, really cool gizmo.

Anyway, my Tele now sounds a million times better than my other guitars so they're gonna gather dust for a while, until I can put another order in with you and I'll be recommending you to all my other guitarist friends.

Alex - Sonic ’60 Tele Bridge, Tele ’90 Neck

Everybody that has heard it have been so impressed and agrees we have created the sound I wanted. My biggest high is John O'Malley giving it the thumbs up, and saying he prefers this sound to his Tele, cool hu?

Colin Larke - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge, Black Cat Neck

I played the Tele in rehearsal last week. As expected, it sounded just as good as the Creamery pickup in my Marr Jaguar. Nice work; I appreciate the special build.

Dan Hicks - Custom Extra Width Tele Bridge

Pickup arrived yesterday safe and sound. Just installed them, lots of sparkle and spank...Awesome!

Dino Rochford - ’64 Tele Set

I have no idea how you do this. These Alt '88 pickups have an output that keeps up with hot humbuckers without losing a tad of Fender string definition and clarity. Chords and individual notes are bold without being even slightly muddy. The high end sings without being shrill, the bottom is bigger and tighter than stock and the mids do whatever your fingers ask for - unbelievable.

I would have written sooner, but I can't put this guitar down! Thanks,

Forrest Webb - Alt ’88 Tele Bridge, Alt ’88 Strat Middle

    Sound absolutely incredible!

    Scott McColl - Tele-90 Set

Just wired the pickups in and they sound FANTASTIC. Really authentic Tele tone and the P90 in the middle gives a great boost to the output when I need it. I've wired the middle out of phase so it's got some great Strat-like sounds too! Will try to get some pictures in the daylight as the artificial lighting at home doesn't do it justice. Thanks again! Cheers

    Jake Fortescue - Tele-90 Set

Jaime - the pickups are amazing, just what I was hoping for. I've never really been one to use the neck position on a tele, but the extra width pickup makes it so much more versatile. I'll be ordering some strat pickups as soon as I can afford them!

Jody James Henderson - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge, Extra Width Tele Neck

3rd set of pickups..! Really love the extra width pickups in my Jazzmaster and that hot tele pickup just encourages my amp to break up like nothing else, glorious!

Joshua Elleschild - Extra Width Jazzmaster Set, Hot Tele Bridge

Finally got the broadcaster 2 pick up wired into my Esquire build. Just wanted to say it sounds amazing! Exactly what I was looking for. Clean or distorted, it sounds great. Fuzzes and overdrives that sound flat before suddenly sound how I always wanted them sound. Thanks again,

Kris Stammer - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge

I bought a couple of tele pickups from you a while ago, and i love them. They're incredible! In fact I love them so much, that i’m planning on eventually purchasing pickups from you for my other two guitars in the future!

Logan Ciappa - Alt ’88 Tele Bridge, Tele-90 Neck

The Alt 88's sound awesome in the Tele!

Matthew Tomich - Alt ’88 Tele Set

Tele pickups are great and the strat pickups are fantastic. The best I have ever played. Through my Mesa Boogie they have tone to die for.Cant stop playing. Many many thanks.

Richie Crawford - Vintage 2 Tele Set, Sweet ’74 Strat Set

The broadcaster pickups you sold me for my tele, has made it impossible for me to fully enjoy my other guitars, and now I will probably have to buy pickups from you for any new guitar I get for the rest of my life. Good thing I'm past 40.

You're pickups have made my telecaster a much more versatile, nuanced and sensitive instrument, with a distinctive voice of its own - with the old pickups it had one good sound, now it has many distinctively different but all good sound.

Thank you for your good service and fantastic products!

Rune Hermannsson - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Set

Hi Jaime, you made me some tele pickups a couple of years back - wide range and a single. A few albums and many tours on they are the best pickups I've ever had.

Sam Astley - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Bridge, Baby ’71 Wide Range Neck

I Just installed a set of your pups (P90-Neck and Hot Tele in the bridge position) on a tele thin line. The owner of the guitar was ecstatic, He loves the sounds.

John Kiriakatis - Alt ’88 Tele Bridge, Tele-90 Neck

Purchased some tele p90 pick-ups from you about a year ago and they are dangerous!

    John Beinke - Tele-90 Set

Had my new pickups fitted a few weeks ago. Having read the reviews I was expecting them to be good.

They are amazing, thank you very much they’ve transformed my tele. I’ll be telling anyone that’ll listen about the brilliant quality your company can provide. Thanks again,

Eric McPhail - Classic ’67 Tele Bridge, Baby ’71 Wide Range Neck (Calibrated Set)

Hi Jaime, Just received the pickups today. Thanks for making them. Sounds great.

Jack Lian - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Set

When I was back home in Macclesfield in March you fixed me up with a Vintage 2 set for my Tele, wow, just wow! They are just perfect, a fantastic sound and quality Ive not previously experienced.

Martin Watson - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Set

Hi Jaime, Just a note to say thanks for the pickups and the useful advice you gave me helping me to choose the right ones for me. They do sound fantastic in my ‘72’ Telecaster Thinline – everything I had hoped for, twang, sustain and great value for the price! Cheers,

Richard Collett - ’72 Tele Replacement Set (Vintage 2 Bridge, Classic ’71 Neck)

Jaime The pickups are amazing. The bridge cuts through but maintains the low-mids and the neck pickup is super warm but sounds defined when overdriven and has clean, huge low end for days. I actually cheated the top end of the neck pickup closer to the strings to balance the warmth I was getting from the walnut body. Many Thanks.

Jeffrey Hillman - Classic ’67 Tele Set

I have to give you some feedback on the recent telecaster pickups you made me. I don't know if you can remember but we originally discussed what would sound good fitted to my Parker for versatility. These pick ups were the recommendation and you got it spot on. It was used in my function band this weekend and sounded amazing and worked perfectly throughout on all the genres of music we cover. Thank you.

Neil Stern - Custom Telecaster Set

They're great, really impressive. Nice combination of a sweet singing sound, and some crunch when I dig in with the pick. Still dialling in what sounds best with the amp, but the combo of the HB and single coil works really well. Just what I was hoping for, so many thanks. All the best,

Keith Gray - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) & Classic ’71 Neck

Just got the tele pickup fitted, very impressed. Just as described, fatter but still plenty of twang, and a little natural reverb or is that my ears?!, great pickup thanks.

Andrew Osbourne - Sonic ’60 Tele Bridge

Hi Jaime, Pickups arrived today. Thank you so much - absolutely wonderful sounds - everything that I asked for / hoped for. The Baby 71 neck is actually better than the original 70's Widerange that I had (and hankered after again) - it's got a tighter bottom end, and is generally more focused as you said it would be, and yet still warm and clear (the original could be a little "wooly" sometimes). The Vintage 2 bridge is somehow twangy, cutting, sparkly and yet warm all at once. (How do you do that?!).The middle is a great combination of both to give a lovely, chiming rhythm tone. Only had the chance to try them through my little Vox practice amp so far - I can't wait to hear them properly through my old valve amp tomorrow. Thanks again, and sorry that I was becoming impatient - these are well worth the wait!

Matt Woodruff - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge - Baby ’71 Neck (Calibrated Set)

Hi Jaime! Just wanted to thank you again for this superb pickups! These are the most balanced, clear and dynamic pickups I ever used in this guitar/AV 52 Tele/This is the fifth set in the guitar that I am trying and I think they will stay forever in it! My search is over! The Extra width neck is pure Strat sound, if not better, and the bridge Classic 64 is absolutely perfect Tele bridge- clear and powerful!

The only negative thing in this situation ,negative mostly for my pocket, hahaha, is that may be I will have to change the pickups in all of my guitars now! Thanks again!

Stoian Pavlov - Classic ’64 Tele Bridge - Extra Width Tele Neck

Hi Jaime, Just a quick one to say thanks for the pickups, they arrived couple of weeks back and I've only just found the time to install them. The bridge pickup is now every bit as good as the other Tele bridge you made me and the Wide Range humbucker is simply amazing, I can't praise it enough. Both pickups now reside in what is easily my favourite guitar! All the best,

Joe Hooper - Custom Bridge & Wide Range Neck set

Hi Jaime, Just put the new tele pickups in last night. Guitar not set up so action about a foot high, but the sound.... Awesome. Will post a review for you. Cheers

Barry Dobson - Classic ’64 Tele Bridge - Extra Width Tele Neck

Hey Jaime - Pickups sound great! Definitely gives me a different palette of sounds compared tomy my previous set up! Thanks again!

Micah McCuistion - Tele-90 Bridge & Neck Set

Hi Jaime, I’m blown away by them!

    Boon Gould - Tele-90 Set

Hi Jaime, My Tele is now with its Creamery PU set. I’m really impressed by them. Clean sounds are fantastic and each string and note are well-defined. I didn’t think PUs could sound like that. Really great job.Thank you.

Thierry Phillippe - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge - Classic ’71 Neck

    Hi Jaime Sounds awesome!! :-)

Andy lewis - Alt ’88 Tele Bridge

Hi Jaime, Just played the custom Sonic 60 in my parts tele esquire build, with modded Eldred mod.

The pickup sounds great at high volume and even under high gain stays clear and balanced. Chords are so defined and It produces very thick single notes that cut through extremely well.

Your work sounds great and looks amazing. .. The red string option is a really cool! I have attached some pictures for your records, thanks again for everything!

Dom Poon - Sonic ’60 Tele Bridge

I finally got around around to installing a couple of other sets I've bought from you - a 12-pole humbucker set and a tele set (extra width neck and vintage 2 bridge). They're the best I've ever played. I can't stop playing every single combination of them. They seem 'solid as a tank' in how they sound, if that makes any sense. There's something about them that is just 'more' than anything I've ever played.

Looking forward to the next couple of sets landing on my doorstep.

Dennis Guy - Vintage 2 Tele Bridge - Extra Width Tele Neck

Hi Jamie, just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks. I just got back from the first practice where I've been able to use the Tele and I'm blown away with the improvement the pickups have made.

Alex Caithness - Sonic '60 Tele Bridge - Tele-90 Neck

    Hello Jaime,

I finally installed those pickups you sent me into my rosewood f/board Mex tele, and they sound absolutely superb, to my ears. I have played a couple of gigs, with it/them, this month and it's very noticeable how much 'mellower' and clear my tele sounds.

Phillip Juon - Vintage 1 (Nocaster) Tele Pickup Set

    Hi Jamie,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I've had some time to play with the Broadcasters now and I have to say I'm very happy indeed!

The tone was exactly what I was looking for, and a big improvement over the stock PUs that came with my Mexican tele. I would also recommend leaving the neck pickup uncovered to get a really loud crunchy tone! The bridge is excellent too, nice and snappy.

Once again I'm very happy with the results, it's like having a new guitar! I'm thinking about getting a Thinline next year so I will definitely consider The Creamery for a set of wide range humbuckers.

    All the best

Fraser Douglas - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Pickup Set

The pups You have sent me are simply amazing!

It's not only me who's stating this ,but anyone who just played my own built tele I 've used them in.

Unfortunatelly my English command is not good enough to express the real satisfaction offered by Your work's result

    Thank You Jamie

Octavian Popovici - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Bridge & Classic ’71 Wide Range Neck (Calibrated Set)

Received the pickups in great time and they are both installed. No feedback or grounding issues anymore, the sound is crystal. They are great! Really impressed. Annoyingly I have no excuse to buy another guitar now...but in all seriousness thanks mate.

I already have a very jealous brother/band member who is now browsing your hum bucking pages.

I will be recommending you and most definitely buying in the future.

    Thanks again!

Doug Jakeman - Tele-90 Bridge & Neck Set

    Hi Jaime,

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the pickups. The sound is exactly what I was after. The Baby 71 is all the best bits of a humbucker mashed with all the best bits of a single coil. Such clarity and enough power at the same time. The bridge pickup is cutting and nasty (in a good way) without the shrillness that teles can suffer from. Together they make a great clean rhythm tone. I love them and will definitely come to you next time I'm doing a build.

Next Sunday I'm playing at a festival in Portugal. If I get any good pics where you can make out the logo I'll send you them.

    All the best

Sam Astley - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Bridge - Baby '71 Wide Range Neck - Calibrated/Balanced Set

Hey Jaime, I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love the pickups you made. The more I play the guitar the more I fall in love with the tone. I get such a great spanky tone from the bridge position. It is more of the Rolling Stones type Tele sound than the country twang which is exactly what I was after. You did a great job

Austin, Mercy Seat Pedals - Classic '64 Tele Set

I installed the Vintage 2 into my Broadcaster clone. That IS it!

That is the early 50's Tele sound I was after.

Sami Saarinen - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Bridge Pickup

    Hi, Jaime.

Just letting you know that I've had the pickups in a couple of weeks now, and am really impressed with the sound - I have quite a high gain amp, and where the original bridge pickup sounded a little drowned out the overwound Sonic '60 sounds just like a Tele should, but with a much thicker sound, and exactly the same twang and clarity as before.

The Wide-Range neck pickup is just infinitely better than the original all the way from the bottom to the top, and I'm shocked at how well the pickups mix, especially in the mids. Thanks a lot

Jack Bradley - Sonic '60 Tele Bridge & Classic '71 Wide Range Humbucker Neck

Hi Jaime. I bought a tele 90 and matching single coil off you a while back. I was pleased with the improvement to my sound, however last week I finally got my tech to remove the tbx tone control and fit a cts pot and vitamin q capacitor. Finally I am hearing my telecaster sounding exactly like it should, it's really quite magic and the pickups are singing with gritty glory. My tech has been won over, so hopefully you'll find some more orders coming in from Notts. Keep doing what you do! All the best.

Nick Jonah Davis - Tele-90 Bridge, Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Neck

I installed the pickups yesterday and I just like to say I'm really very happy with them. They've made a world of difference, the Tele now sounds like it should. The standard pickups on a mexican tele are just woolly compared, there was no real definition, especially in the neck. A P90 sounds lovely and fat as well.

Josh Hutton - Tele-90 Bridge & Calibrated Vintage 1 (Nocaster) Tele neck

Installed the pickups a week ago and did a few recordings and a couple of gigs.

All I can say is that they are awesome. The sound is incredible, easy to find the sweet spot and they match perfectly.

The bridge pickup has "body" and clarity at the same time and the "wide range" neck is... what can I say ? Perfect as a humbucker AND as a single coil. Actually it's the best single coil sound I've heard in a Tele neck !

All in all you 've done a great job Jamie. Thanks so much.

George Simatos - Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Bridge - Baby '71 Wide Range Neck

    Hi Jaime,

I've finally completed my Esquire build and I have to say that a side-by-side comparison with my Fender Telecaster '52 Re-Issue through a valve amp was very revealing - the Esquire is so lively with a fantastic tone leaving my '52 trailing in the distance. Thank you for doing such a great job.

Phil Truman - Custom Vintage 2 (Broadcaster) Tele Bridge

Thank you for the Telecaster pick-ups you recently made me, they are class!

Neil Stern - Classic '64 Telecaster Set

Hi Jaime just to let You know that the pick up sounds unbelievable It has been worth It to wait for such a extremely good pick up the guitar has done such a change that has well pass my best expectations. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It has been the first but It won't be the last!

Carme Baro Picher - Vintage Tele Bridge / Classic '71 Wide Range Neck Humbucker

Thanks for the pickup. I compared it to the twisted tele neck in my friends custom shop tele. It sounds very close and gives the strat neck pickup tone in a tele that I was looking for

Extra Width Tele Neck - Matt Forest

I've now had the chance to play with the pick ups a few times with two different bands, one where I use a clean sound, the other is more overdriven rock and I'm well-pleased. Initially the luthier had put in his personal preference of a 0.033 cap and the cleans were just a tad bright, so I swapped it out for a 0.047 and though the difference was small, it gave me the sound I was hoping for; full-bodied, warm cleans and a lovely snarl when overdriven without the harshness of the previous, stock pups. I'm impressed also by the balance between strings. The bottom end is more defined and the top end is no longer strident. With just a bit of tweaking, I can get a lovely, bright twang or a dirty growl without losing any of the definition.

Also, as these are wound hotter than the stock pups, when I switch from my HS Filtertron Gretsch to the Tele I no longer have to mess about with the volume/levels on amp/pedals so it sits in the live mix the same. A quick tweak of the guitar tone/volume knobs and I'm away...

So, thanks for the great workmanship from another satisfied customer.

Paul - Vintage 1 (Nocaster) Tele Bridge | Extra Width tele Neck

I've finally got all the pieces for the guitar I was building around your pickups. I am really happy with the range of sounds I can get from your pickups, real vintage twang on the bridge with a whole range from the neck.

Ian England - Vintage 2 Bridge, Classic '71 Neck balanced set

Finally wired up the Tele today. The pickups are fantastic! I'm very happy. I'm gonna do some pics and clips and start telling everyone how great they are .... Been living with my Creamery Tele pickups for a while now. Best pups I've ever owned. I can't put my guitar down! It doesn't get any better than finding pups that make you want to play more

My black "Wilko" Tele, fitted with a great set of (Hot Alnico 5) pickups from The Creamery - Neck pickup might just be the best I've ever heard. Bridge cuts like a knife!

The only thing better than having pickups hand-made, is having pickups hand-made that sound even better than you hoped they would! Dynamic, versatile, remarkable clarity and well made - they truly are fantastic. Thanks!
    Ben Butterworth
The Hot Alnico 5 Tele Neck pickup is in! Help ma Boab! Everything I'd hoped for and more. Warm, balanced and just a bit snarly.

Just played my first gig with the new vintage tele broadcaster pickup. It sounds AMAZING !! Everything I have ever wanted ! On the bridge pickup with a bit of reverb added was like a step back to the 50s in tone. Even my bass player commented that it was like BB kings tone from his 50s classic recordings. When we rocked it up with a bit of tube screamer it was out and out rock n roll ! I cannot recommend your pickups enough Jaime ! They are everything you describe them as and more. Great Pickups...great service ! I look forward to taking the tele with me on tour in the summer with the blues festivals and club dates we have lined up ! Thanks again for giving me the tone I have dreamed of ! Seriously, the tele sounds amazing..exactly as you described...the vintage bridge sounded full and fat but with plenty of bite. And It really made me play my ass off ! When your tone is there you can just concentrate on playing...I don't think I have ever sounded so good !

I received the Alt '88 Tele Pickup Set and stuck them right in. I LOVE THESE PICK UPS! Yes, they scream as expected but I can still pick country without getting itchy. I have been reccomending you to anyone who asks and many who don't. I have to admit that I am not really a "build up" kind of guy. all of my other guitars are dead stock. I've always been a PAF player and most of my guitars are Gibsons, I am a vintage collector. I have a few old strats and a mix of other stuff too, but I have only had one Tele in my life and it is an all stock all original 1952. I've never been completely sold on the delivery I get from Teles. I must say that I am a born again Tele fan and it really is completely due to your pups.
    Bryan Kweskin
I got the pickups through and soldered them in. You can add me to the list that these Alt '88 overwound Tele pickups are absolutely awesome. I love em and so does the guy who’s guitar i have custom refurbed. I’ll be recommending your pickups to everyone ... I’ll be in contact again soon to put in an order for some of your Tele wide range pickups I have got my eye on; this time for my own guitar. Cheers again

"I meant to email sooner to let you know the Alnico II Broadcasters are perfect and have a wonderful tone - very bluesy and soulful. You have a winner there - really excellent.

"Honestly Jaime, from now on any time I want new pickups I shall definitely come back to The Creamery. I've already got a couple of upgrades in mind, but that might be a little further down the line. Thanks again for all your assistance with this. First class pickups and first class service too!!"
